A consumer unit, or fuse board to some people, is the heart of the electrical system in any property. It's primary function is to disconnect the supply should any fault conditions occur, ultimately keeping you and your equipment safe. 

 

It is paramount that you have a safe and fully functioning consumer unit, as we see with a lot of older properties, especially domestic properties, it is not uncommon to have a consumer unit that is as old as the property. Nowadays, with modern technology, a consumer unit is a lot more sensitive than 40 years ago, thus providing us with safer environments to live and work in. 

 

Luckily, we are here to help you with upgrading your consumer unit, we are highly competitive in terms of price, prior to quoting an upgrade, we provide a completely free site visit to ensure that a consumer unit upgrade is suitable for you, the site visit takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and it involves us carrying out a series of tests to ensure we can integrate a modern consumer unit into your existing electrics. It also gives you the chance to ask as many questions as you like as we fully understand this process can be quite daunting!

 

When upgrading a consumer unit, we upgrade the cables supplying it, add containment where necessary and mainly install individual RCBO's for each circuit. It will come complete with certification and be clearly labelled so you know what each circuit breaker does!
